Colonel COLONEL JASON P. HOUSTON

Colonel Jason “Stinger” Houston is the Deputy Commander, 332d Air Expeditionary Wing, Southwest Asia. The composite wing includes a wide array of combat Air Force capabilities including precision strike, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and combat search and rescue in direct support of U.S. Air Forces Central and U.S. Central Command priorities. The wing is comprised of the 1st Expeditionary Rescue Group, three staff directorates and 12 additional operational and support function squadrons with more than 1,800 total force Airmen.

Col Houston was commissioned in 2001 through the United States Air Force Academy. Col Houston has flown four tours in the F-15E achieving Instructor Pilot, Flight Examiner, and Mission Commander status. He also served as an Exchange Instructor Pilot with the United States Navy where he flew all variants of the F/A-18. Col Houston is a Command Pilot and has accumulated more than 3,000 hours in fighter aircraft, including 494 combat hours flown in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, RESOLUTE SUPPORT, and SPARTAN SHIELD.

Prior to assuming his current position, Col Houston was student at the Eisenhower School, National Defense University, Fort McNair, Washington D.C., where he completed Senior Developmental Education focusing on National Security and Resource Strategy.
