Gen. Joseph Votel, U.S. Central Command commander, visited Airmen and Soldiers, receiving a first-hand look at the operational mission at one of the bases in his area of responsibility in the region, Feb. 23.

The general received an in-depth mission brief from units in the  U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army and spoke with the members supporting and executing the fight against ISIS.

The CENTCOM leader held a commander’s call, thanking the service members for their contribution to the fight and answered questions from the audience.

Votel also stressed the importance of the support element from service members not on the front lines of the fight in Iraq and Syria.
