The 332d Air Expeditionary Wing’s Warrior of the Week for September 25 is Tech. Sgt. Stanley Appleby, Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, 332d Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron. Appleby manages cargo departing his deployed location and supervises members of the LRS.

Logistic Readiness Squadron Technicians prioritize DoD Mission Capable (MICAP) shipments: explosives, classified, sensitive, and hazardous materials as well as passengers.

With the help of an additional NCO, they were recently able to take on the work of eight personnel. They prepared 170 articles of cargo for airlift and forward movement in less than seven days.

Stanley deals with inbound and outbound materials as well as household items and passengers traveling. He says that he enjoys his job as it allows him the opportunity to “really see the mission.”

Appleby enjoys traveling, movies and sports; his favorite being basketball.

Before deploying, Appleby re-enlisted for another tour and although he’s thankful for the recognition this award brings, he says that it’s not about him.

“I appreciate it but it’s really a team effort. I can’t do this by myself.”

Warrior of the Week is a competitive recognition program that highlights significant contributions made by individual Airmen who raise the Red Tail standard and enhance the mission and capabilities of the 332d Air Expeditionary Wing.
