Senior Airman Cory Gibson, 455th Air Expeditionary Wing Finance Management customer service technician and cashier, serves as the only Air Force finance customer service technician in Afghanistan.

Gibson ensures Bagram’s active-duty, Reserve and Guard Airmen, as well as U.S. civilian members, are financially set during their deployment here. He also manages the Eagle Cash Card program for all total force members at BAF.

“If the finance team wasn’t here, the quality of life for Airmen would not be as high. Many times members come into finance to check on their pay and entitlements. With me being here to assist members right away; it lessens customers stress since they don’t have to find a way to figure out what is wrong with their pay,” Gibson said. “My Core Values and self-satisfaction in helping others embodies my customer service.”

Gibson is part of the “1000s of Hands” of 455 AEW Airmen who are crucial to the wing’s mission to generate and sustain airpower on the combat frontier of Afghanistan’s NATO’s Resolute Support mission and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. The “1000s of Hands” project highlights Vulture Airmen who have a hand in delivering a blanket of steel, technology and courage to protect the force in the field and support Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
