U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Rocky Hart, 451st Expeditionary Operations Group chief enlisted manager, took the race to heart and remembered the fallen. He completed the 10 km race wearing his individual body armor vest. Affixed to the front of it was a list of the names of the 93 Airmen who have given their lives, or where injured in combat in the area of responsibility in support of Operation Enduring Freedom since the last Air Force Marathon in 2011. 9/14/2012 - KANDAHAR AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- More than 250 U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and coalition forces jointed together for the Air Force 10K run put on by the 451st Air Expeditionary Force Support Flight here Sept 14. Since the Airmen deployed here are unable to participate in the Annual Air Force Marathon Sept. 15 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, the 451st EFSF leadership decided to bring the event to KAF. As interest in the event grew, the 451st EFSF leaders opened it up to all joint and coalition forces.
