08/23/2008 - MANAS AIR BASE, KYRGYZ REPUBLIC -- Staff Sgt. Jason J. Scott, 376th Expeditionary Maintenance Group, is this week's Diamond Sharp Airman. The Palmdale, Calif., native is deployed here from Travis Air Force Base, Calif. Sergeant Scott is an extraordinary individual whose C-17 hydraulic knowledge and enthusiasm is a critical asset to the success of the mission. As the sole C-17 hydraulic craftsman and trained maintainer, his work enabled the movement of over 45,000 U.S. and coalition forces in and out of Afghanistan with a 94% on-time departure rate. He is also the only qualified certifier of the Condor, a high-reach lift critcal to the maintenance operations at Manas AB. (Air Force courtesy photo)
