Moving In

Staff Sgt. Joseph Smith and Tech. Sgt. James Heim, both assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Medical Group, along with Army Sgt. Jonathan Brown, 427th Medical Logistics Company, guide a patient couch to the gantry of the Computed Tomography Aug. 21, 2008, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The computed tomography is used to conduct full body x-rays to search for injuries. The installation is part of a move of all medical facilities from temporary expeditionary trailers to newly completed permanent buildings. All three servicemen are biomedical equipment repair technicians deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. Sergeant Smith, a native of Amarillo, Texas, is deployed from Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Sergeant Helm, a native of Northumberland. Pa., is deployed from the 193rd Special Operations Wing, Pennsylvania Air National Guard in Middletown, Pa. Sergeant Brown, a native of Marietta.
