Chief Master Sergeant David S. Platt is the Superintendent of the 438th Air Expeditionary Advisory Group (AEAG) Kabul, Afghanistan. The Chief serves as the senior advisor to the 438th Group Commander and Kabul Air Wing Commander, and as the enlisted advisory to the Command Sergeant Major for the Afghan Air Force (AAF) for all matters affecting 3,400 US, AAF, and NATO enlisted and air advisory operations. He also leads all joint enlisted personnel from 35 different specialties that train, advise, and equip 3,000 AAF Airmen and Soldiers.
CMSgt Platt grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and entered the Air Force in October of 1986. He has served in numerous duties and positions in wing command posts and has completed tours with the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Airborne Command Post (ABNCP), United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and the Air Combat Command (ACC) Inspector General (IG). He has been stationed in New York, Italy, Nebraska, Florida, South Korea, North Carolina, Kuwait, Virginia, Ohio, Iraq, Afghanistan, and South Dakota. CMSgt Platt also served as NCOIC of Airborne Emergency Actions Officer scheduling for the USSTRATCOM ABNCP, Assistant NCOIC for the USSOCOM Joint Service Color Guard, Career Assistance Advisor for the 8 FW, Kunsan AB, Republic of Korea, and as Superintendent of Wing Staff Agencies for the 386 AEW.
