Chief Master Sergeant Paul J. Schaaf II is the Chief Enlisted Manager for the 738th Air Expeditionary Advisor Group, Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan. Chief Schaaf advises the Group Commander on mission effectiveness, readiness, utilization, development, and well-being of personnel assigned to the group. He also serves as the personal advisor and mentor to the Command Sergeant Major of the Afghan Air Force, Kandahar Air Wing, Afghanistan.

Chief Schaaf is from Victorville, CA and entered the Air Force in January 1991 as a Law Enforcement Specialist. His background includes Integrated Defense, Joint Contingency Operations, Foreign Partnership Capacity, and numerous leadership roles at squadron, group, wing, and joint command levels. His assignments include bases in California, Wyoming, Texas, Georgia, and Nevada. Chief Schaaf also served overseas in Turkey, Guam, and deployed in support of multiple contingencies.

Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the Security Forces Manager, 99th Ground Combat Training School,
Creech AFB, NV.
