Chief Master Sergeant Alexander P. del Valle is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, Train, Advise, Assist Command-Air (TAAC-Air) and 438th Air Expeditionary Wing, FOB Oqab, Kabul, Afghanistan. Chief del Valle ensures mission effectiveness, readiness, utilization, development, and well-being of coalition personnel from the United States, Greece, Czech Republic, Turkey and Denmark assigned to two locations in Afghanistan. The chief also serves as personal air advisor and mentor to the Command Sergeant Major of the Afghan Air Force, supporting his three main operating bases/wings at Kabul, Kandahar, and Shindand. Chief del Valle is charged to set the conditions for a professional, fully independent, operationally capable, and sustainable Afghan Air Force that meets the security requirements of Afghanistan today and tomorrow.

Chief del Valle’s functional background includes air traffic control tower and radar approach control (RAPCON) operations as well as deployed mobile TPN-19 and TSW-7 ATC facilities. Chief del Valle has deployed to forward operating locations in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Pakistan, and Iraq in support of numerous named operations including Operations CORAL RELIEF, SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.
