Col. Thomas A. Geiser is the Deputy Commander of Train, Advise, Assist Command –Air (TAAC-Air) and Vice Commander of the 438th Air Expeditionary Wing (AEW) at Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA), Kabul, Afghanistan.
He has previously served as the J-3, Director of Combat Operations, for Special Operations Aviation forces in United States Central Command and as Deputy Group Commander for Special Operations Aviation forces in Afghanistan.
He is a graduate of National War College and taught as an Assistant Professor at National Defense University’s Eisenhower School of National Security and Resource Strategy.
He previously Commanded the 6th Special Operations Squadron, a unit of Combat Aviation Advisors dedicated to Aviation Foreign Internal Defense partnerships with key allies around the globe.
Col. Geiser has been qualified in MC-130H, C-130E, M-28, and DHC-6 aircraft. He is a graduate of Brazilian Air Command and Staff College, and subsequently served as the Air Force Section Chief at the US Embassy in Brazil.
He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and interned for Congressman Ike Skelton as a Truman Scholar prior to attending Oxford University in the United Kingdom as a Rhodes Scholar.
Additionally, he served at NATO HQ, supporting AMB Richard Holbrooke during Balkan conflict negotiations. He is a Latin American Regional Affairs Strategist and has served tours in the UK, Germany, Belgium, Japan, and Brazil.
