Master Sgt. Miller advises NATO Air Training Command-Afghanistan leaders on hazards pertaining to Forward Operating Base Oqab, ensures members are aware of deployed hazards, and standardizes safety information across the 438th Air Expeditionary Wing.
In support of the train, advise, and assist mission, Miller advises four Afghan counterparts at the Afghan Air Force Headquarters safety office, where he reviewed the AAF HQ safety program and advised and assisted in an AAF safety regulation re-write. In addition, Miller instructed ground safety principles during an AAF Chief of Safety Course. Miller's advising of the AAF HQ and the Kabul Wing Safety Offices helped correct discrepancies and curb at-risk behavior, which resulted in a reduction in AAF mishaps.
In addition to his primary duties, Miller performed 21 hours of overwatch missions, providing security for 314 passengers during 15 casualty evacuation and five human remains transfer missions in both the C-130 and C-208 aircraft. He facilitated six English courses for the AAF in support of Operation Outreach. When he's not advising and enforcing safety standards, Master Sgt. Miller is the post master for NATC-A, managing 30 volunteers to distribute mail; a major boost to morale!
Congratulations, Master Sgt. Miller!
