Mar. 3, 2014 Warrior of the Week: Master Sgt. Lee Pentimone

Name: Master Sgt. Lee Pentimone

Deployed Unit: 738th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron

Home Station: Lackland AFB, Texas

Home Unit: 436th Security Forces Squadron

Mission Accomplishments:

In three short months Master Sergeant Lee Pentimone has proven vital in the advising effort to solidify the Pohantoon-e-Hawayee Air University as the Afghan Air Force's center of excellence for education and leadership. He has been assigned as the Officer Candidate School Advisor for the 738th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron, Kabul, Afghanistan.

His mentorship of the PeH OCS and Operations Staff on scheduling and organizing their manpower and equipment requirements, along with managing their personnel actions is key to creating the first ever PeH OCS program. This mentorship will also prove to be needed in sustaining the University well into the future.

With the campus secured solely by Afghans, he also provided countless hours of overwatch and Guardian Angel for U.S. civilians and contractors in support of English Language Training and instructor development.

Master Sgt. Pentimone has volunteered over 20 hours to Operation Outreach Afghanistan; providing needed clothes, blankets, toys, and fuel pucks to our Afghan counterparts and their families around Kabul. He is also a member of the Enlisted Counsel, which provides morale and mentorship to all AF members assigned to NKIA and OQAB.

Master Sgt. Pentimone is just another example of the caliber of Advisors within the 738th AEAS trying to help sustain the AAF into the future.
