U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Alexus Grynkewich presents Barbara Hope Ellis with a coin at a Women’s History Month honorary luncheon at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., March 28, 2023. Ellis is the widow of Maj. Gen. Billy Ellis, who served as the Ninth Air Force vice commander in 1981. Ellis shared personal anecdotes of her life as a military spouse and mother to Maj. Gen. Ellis’ and her eight children to inspire the spouses and women leaders on base who attended the event.
