Staff Sgt. Bak, a Belgian Malinois military working dog assigned to the 380th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, locates a satchel emanating odors he is trained to detect, during a training exercise, October 20, 2022 at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates. While it’s the MWD’s job to sniff out suspected items, the handler must be able to read an MWD’s change in behavior to receive early indications of specific odors.
