ROCK SOLID WARRIOR: Staff Sgt. Marc Ferguson

SOUTHWEST ASIA -- This week's Rock Solid Warrior is Staff Sgt. Marc Ferguson, the Command Support Staff Administrator with the 386th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, deployed from Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla. The Rock Solid Warrior program is a way to recognize and spotlight the Airmen of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing for their positive impact and commitment to the mission.

What is your current job title and unit?

I am the Command Support Staff Administrator with the 386th Expeditionary Logisitics Readiness Squadron.

Which squadron and base are you deployed from?

I am deployed from the 482nd Operation Support Staff out of Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla.


Why did you join the Air Force?
I joined to serve my country and take advantage of all the benefits the military has to offer.

How is your deployed unit/job different from your home unit/job?
I work with pilots at my home unit and am familiar with the operations aspect. Deployed, I work with the Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, which has given me insight as to how they support and contribute to the mission.

What are some of your professional and personal goals?
My goal here was to accomplish the courses needed to obtain my Community College of the Air Force degree and I did. I recently completed Cybersecurity training and would like to switch to that career field on the military side.

What is your favorite part of your mission here?
My favorite part of the mission here is being able to contribute to the fight.

What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy travelling, exercising, dining, trying different types of food and poetry.

What are some of the challenges you face here? How do you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges I face is working with a multitude of different personalities. I overcome this challenge by treating everyone fairly and with equal respect.
