Q: What is your family's military heritage (anyone else in your family who was/is in the military?):
A: I'm the first to join the military

Q: What is your mission here (in general terms)?
A: My mission while assigned to the 386th is to remain vigilant to threats against personnel and resources in my area of responsibility, supervise base defense operations and provide initial incident command (IC) and control for all incidents until relieved by higher authorities.

Q: What are some of the best parts of your mission?
A: One of the best parts of my mission is being able to lead and interact with the troops on a daily basis and to show them their importance to the mission here at the 386th.

Q: What are some of the challenges you face while conducting your mission, and how do you overcome them?
A: One of the challenges we face while conducting the mission is taking a group of men and women with different skill levels and getting them on the same sheet of music in a short period of time. We as a team overcome this by being more proactive then reactive with flight training to include exercises based off our current threat.

Q: How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base?
A: There is very little difference between my home base mission and the deployed mission because of the way the 386th is transitioning to an enduring mindset, with the exception of possibly being forward deployed.

Q: How many times have you deployed?
A: This is my seventh and last deployment

Q: What makes this deployment unique?
A: Our leadership from the top down makes this deployment unique.

Q: Why did you join the Air Force?
A: I joined Air Force for the comradery and job security.
