SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Staff Sgt. Zach Derringer, a member of the 386th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, sings “Home” by the rock group Daughtry during the Desert Idol competition on July 13 at a base in Southwest Asia. The 386th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron sponsored the event, which had three rounds of judging. Sergeant Derringer finished in third place and was awarded a prize of $50. Eric Sanchez, deployed to the 386th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, sings rhythm and blues artist Montel Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It” during the Desert Idol competition on July 13 at a base in Southwest Asia.
