12 Chimneys Restaurant
Airmen from Manas Air Base, Kyrgyzsatn stop at a Russian restaurant called “The Twelve Chimneys," after visiting the Alamedin Gorge. The restaurant is a beautiful log-cabin structure nestled between two mountains, with a river running beside it. Manas Airmen continue their volunteer efforts in local communities
Tech. Sgt. Jimmy Counts plays with an infant cancer patient at the Children’s Cancer Center in Kyrgyzstan. Patients at the center range from infants up to 18-year olds. Many of the patients stay at the center for up to two years. They are accompanied by a parent or other adult family member who stays with them. Sergeant Counts, deployed from the 20th Aeromedical Dental Squadron, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., is one of many airmen who volunteer their time with the Manas Air Base Outreach Society. MABO is a private, non-profit organization that provides charitable donations, goods and/or services to people and organizations in the surrounding areas of Manas Air Base.
