Twenty-three millimeter rounds hit their targets on the ground in a puff of smoke after being fired from newly mounted twin-barreled Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-23 guns from an Afghan Air Force Mi-35 helicopter for the first time May 15, 2013 during a live fire exercise south of Kabul, Afghanistan. During the training mission the AAF pilots fired a total of 725 rounds between the two aircraft.
