Colonel Scott P. Davis is the Commander, 378th Air Expeditionary Wing. The wing's mission is to sustain and defend joint and partner forces while projecting combat airpower in support of theater plans and operations. As the first Unit of Action in the CENTCOM AOR, he is responsible for the wing’s 7 squadrons including 3 Mission Generation Force Elements and an Expeditionary Air Base Squadron, overseeing 2,500 Joint personnel supporting Operations INHERENT RESOLVE, SPARTAN SHIELD, and PROSPERITY GUARDIAN.
Colonel Davis received his commission in 2003 from the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Portland, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He has served as a KC-135 Formal Training Unit Evaluator Pilot, C-17 Instructor Pilot, Executive Officer at the Squadron and Air Operations Center level, Operations Officer for the Air Force’s busiest C-17 squadron, and was a Distinguished Graduate from Air Command and Staff College. He commanded the 93d Air Refueling Squadron and the 93d Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron through the conclusion of combat operations in Afghanistan and led the only Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation executed on a KC-135 during Operation ALLIES REFUGE. Prior to his current position, Colonel Davis was the Commander, 12th Air Task Force.
Colonel Davis has operational experience in combat and contingency operations to include eight combat deployments in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, INHERENT RESOLVE, SPARTAN SHIELD, ALLIES REFUGE, and The Resolute Support Mission.
