Ninth Air Force (Air Forces Central)

Ninth Air Force (Air Forces Central) is the air component of United States Central Command, a regional unified command. 9AF (AFCENT) is responsible for air operations, either unilaterally or in concert with regional partners, and developing contingency plans in support of national objectives for USCENTCOM's 21-nation area of responsibility, with 17 partner nations in Southwest Asia. Within the Combined Air Operations Center, AFCENT has 16 global partners working together to support operations in the region. Additionally, USAFCENT manages an extensive supply and equipment prepositioning program at several area of responsibility sites.

A high performing, innovative team, executing an integrated campaign alongside regional and Coalition nations to deter and, if necessary, defeat regional aggressors and global competitors.

Expeditionary Units

332nd Air Expeditionary Wing

The 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing generates, executes, and sustains combat airpower and combat search and rescue forces across the Levant. 

378th Air Expeditionary Wing

The 378th Air Expeditionary Wing sustains and defends joint and partner forces while projecting combat airpower in support of theater plans and operations.

379th Air Expeditionary Wing

The 379th Air Expeditionary Wing supports a wide range of missions to include: bomber, airlift, refueling, aeromedical evacuation, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. This collection makes the 379th AEW a large hub for humanitarian airlift activity while also providing mission-essential combat power, aeromedical evacuation and intelligence support for multiple-theaters of operations. 

380th Air Expeditionary Wing

The 380th Air Expeditionary Wing is a refueling wing for operations in the Arabian Gulf and provides combat service support to land component forces throughout the Persian Gulf Region and Iraq. 

386th Air Expeditionary Wing

The 386th Air Expeditionary Wing is an airlift and an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance hub supporting coalition operations throughout the Arabian Gulf region. The wing also provides combat service support to land and sea component forces throughout the Arabian Gulf region.
