SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Several hundred thousand leaflets to be airdropped over an Iraqi city are strapped down with the static lines running from the leaflet boxes up to the anchor cable of an Air Force C-130 Hercules during an airdrop mission in May 2008. The anchor cable is also used by paratroopers when jumping from the aircraft in-flight and the static line is designed to rip open their parachute once they've cleared the aircraft and is pulled back in for reuse.
