Reverse Auctioning
SOUTHWEST ASIA -- A contractor describes the functions on a generator procured by the Air Force to Maj. Tim Hawkins, 386th Expeditionary Contracting Squadron commander, Capt. Lisa Gambrel, 386th ECONS contracting officer, and other contractors recently in the Persian Gulf Region. Airmen from the 386th ECONS used an innovative method to procure 29 generators, called electronic reverse auctioning, to save the Air Force $395,000. These contracting officers were the first in a deployed location to use this innovative method of procuring products for the Air Force. (Air Force photo/Capt. Jason McCree)
