Warrior of the Week: Tech. Sgt. Adam Lemcke Published Dec. 23, 2011 By 376th Air Expeditionary Wing Public Affairs TRANSIT CENTER AT MANAS, Kyrgyzstan -- Every week, a member of the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing is selected as the Warrior of the Week. This individual is recognized based on outstanding performance, good conduct, work ethic and most importantly, for a job well done. Meet the Warrior of the Week -- Tech. Sgt. Adam Lemcke is a 376th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron NCO in charge of cargo from Travis Air Force Base, Calif. He is a native of Westminster, Colo. Here's what Lemcke had to say about himself and his deployment. What do you do on a daily basis at the Transit Center? As the Cargo NCO in charge, I am responsible for the shipping, receiving and tracking of all air cargo at the Transit Center. What do you enjoy about being at the Transit Center? I really enjoy the camaraderie at the Transit Center. The people I work with are some of the finest in the Air Force. Why did you choose to serve in the military? I chose to serve in the military after 9/11. It had been a boyhood dream, but after 9/11 I made it a reality. I could not envision my life without the Air Force! How do you feel about your contributions to the Transit Center mission and current operations in the AOR? I am honored to support our war fighters. I may not be on the front lines, but I know that what I do makes a difference in their lives. Everyone in the Air Force needs cargo of some kind and I get to touch the lives of the entire Air Force. I know that what I do makes a difference in Airmen's lives. Family: son- Aidan; brother- Michael; sister- Stephanie; parents- Steve and Connie Time at the Transit Center: Almost three months Time in military: Seven years, 11 months Greatest accomplishment: Deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and making a direct influence in the lives of war fighters. Goals you want to achieve or meet while at the Transit Center: Complete two college classes, continuing with my degree; get healthier and make an impact on someone's life Hobbies: Playing with my son and cooking Your best habit: Mission First! She instilled such a sense of pride and belief in me, that I could make anything possible. If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why: I would like to spend an hour with my high school choir director, Mrs. Alexa Doebele. I would share with her all of my accomplishments and let her know how much she truly changed my life.
