KABUL, Afghanistan -- Across the 438th Air Expeditionary Wing, the anniversary of 9/11 was commemorated by coalition members honoring those who lost their lives 10 years ago.

Honoring the occasion at the 438th AEW, members started the morning with a 5K run that began and ended on the International Security Assistance Force Joint Command's compound with more than 100 of runners participating.

The morning's activities continued as 21 Airmen volunteered to raise and lower flags belonging to wing members for 9 minutes, 11 seconds each throughout the day.

Members continued the day's events by reading each individual name lost in the terror attacks 10 years ago and reflected on their thoughts of serving in Kabul during the monumental occasion.
