Mi-17 wash

KABUL, Afghanistan -- Members from the Afghan air force recently washed several Afghan Mi-17 Helicopters on the runway at Kabul International Airport, Kabul, Afghanistan, August 11, 2011. The AAF has 33 Mi-17s located in Kabul, Kandahar and Shindand.

The Mi-17 is perfectly suited to the needs of Afghanistan. Its original design was one optimized for Afghanistan's high, rugged terrain and blistering summer temperatures.

Coalition Airmen here work daily to set the conditions for a professional, fully independent and operationally-capable AAF.
