The 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing Chapel team was recognized recently in two U.S. Air Forces Central Command Chaplain Corps Rotational Award categories for January to July.

Chaplain (Maj.) Clyde Dyson, 332nd AEW Protestant chaplain, was named Outstanding Field Grade Chaplain.

"I feel humbled and completely honored to receive such an award," Major Dyson, who is deployed from Kadena Air Base, Japan, said. "I'm sure it was a very hard decision because AFCENT has some very capable and hardworking field grade officer chaplains throughout the area of responsibility." Major Dyson is a native of Memphis, Tenn.

The 332nd AEW chapel team was also recognized for being the Outstanding Large Deployed Chapel Team.

According to Chaplain (Col.) George Meister, 332nd AEW head chaplain, the team was evaluated in four different areas: warrior care, advising leadership, chapel-based ministries and care for the caregiver. Within the five-month evaluation period, the team provided nearly 1,700 hours of unit and battlefield visitation with 7,000 personal contacted.

The colonel, who is deployed from Peterson Air Force Base Colo., said the chapel team also created a unique spiritual resiliency product designed to encourage and reinforce the warrior's heart and soul. They've delivered more than 821 hours of emergency and routine counseling for combat stress, ethical and moral issues, relationship problems, spiritual guidance and suicide interventions.

"I am extremely proud of each member on our chapel team," Colonel Meister, a native of Denver, Colo., said. "To see each of our team members succeed in what they have been called to do is exciting."
