Afghan Ministry of Defense International Women's Day Celebration

The Afghan Ministry of Defense celebrated International Women's day at Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan hospital on March 7, 2011.

Female members of the MoD, Department of religious and cultural affairs, Afghan National Army and the Afghan Air Force attended the event.

Delegates from Ministry of Defense congratulated all of the world's women especially the Afghan mothers and women. They highlighted the key role of Afghan women in the Afghan National Security Force working together side by side with their Afghan brothers.

They asked that all Afghan parents train their children according to the Islamic basics and rules. They explained that any kind of brutality against women is not acceptable and it goes against Islamic and Afghan social values.

Children from the ANA health department entertained the crowd by singing in both English and Dari languages. At the end of this celebration, they distributed appreciation certificates and gifts to the military and civilian women of the ANSF.
