The Afghan Air Force's Kabul Air Wing took the responsibility of the Afghan Crew Chief & Air Assault Academy from the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade on Oct. 9, 2010.

The crew chief & air assault course have been conducted at Bagram for the last 9 months by Task Force Falcon, NATO Air Training Command - Afghanistan and the AAF.

TF Falcon provided the course expertise & a large portion of the training assets. They have graduated dozens of Afghan National Army Commandos and AAF Crew Chiefs and pilots from these courses. In the last courses, the AAF graduated their first instructors.

With the arrival of four new Mi-17 aircraft, the AAF will now have the responsibility to teach & conduct these courses.
