On July 7, 2010 members from the Combined Air Power Transition Force moved 7,000 pounds of humanitarian supplies from Bagram Airfield to the Afghan Air Force base in Kabul during a two day trip. The trip was just the first in a series of planned supply trips to BAF for aid pick-up, as CAPTF plans to make humanitarian trips into the outer regions of Afghanistan a routine occurance.

With the Afghan Air Forces air fleet capabilities, they are in a unique position to reach regions of Afghanistan that are normally overlooked due to the impracticalities of transporting large quantities of goods any considerable distance in convoy. Smaller villages and rural communities now have only to look out there front door to see the Mi-17 transport helicopters unloading aid into their fields and see Afghans helping Afghans.
