One Airman's trash is other Airman's training aid
SATHER AIR BASE, Iraq -- Air Force Master Sgt. Dellet Weaver (left), production superintendant for aircraft maintenance advisors assigned to the 321st Air Expeditionary Advisory Group, and Master Sgt. Marty Smith, assistant fire chief assigned to the 447th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, discuss how to remove the wing from a C-130 Oct. 27, 2009. The aircraft is believed to have been destroyed years ago after it crashed short of a runway outside the wire, without casualties. Several American and Iraqi Airmen are working together to salvage parts for use as hands-on training aids for Iraqi aircraft maintainers at New Al Muthana Air Base. Sergeant Weaver is deployed from Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. and hails from Grafton, W.Va. Sergeant Smith is deployed from the 132nd Fighter Wing, Iowa Air National Guard and is originally from Ankeny, Iowa. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Johnny L. Saldivar)
