More than 3,000 deploying Airmen will get their weapons from the person they are replacing within the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility, rather than bringing weapons with them from their home stations. A U.S. Air Forces Central weapons prepositioning initiative will save the service $1.2 million every four months and will make travel to and from the AOR easier for deploying Airmen by reducing the amount of baggage they need to bring.
