Handle with care
Air Force, Army and local Kirkuk emergency responders help load a patient onto a Turkish C-130 at the Kirkuk Regional Air Base flight line in preparations to fly the patient to Turkey for medical care. The individual was one of the more than 100 injured when a suicide bomber walked inside a Kurdish restaurant and detonated the explosives killing at least 55 people Dec. 11. The Iraqi, Turkish and American governments and military worked together to coordinate the C-130 to land at Kirkuk to transport some of the injured. The attack came while the region was celebrating Eid al-Adha, the festive Muslim holiday that comes at the end of the hajj pilgrimage. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Randi Flaugh)
