MQ-1B Predator

The primary mission of the MQ-1 Predator is interdiction and conducting armed reconnaissance against critical, perishable targets. Predator damaged in Afghanistan

BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan -- An Air Force MQ-1 Predator was damaged at approximately 10:15 a.m. at a base in southern Afghanistan, November 20.

The aircraft is a medium-altitude, long-endurance, remotely piloted aircraft. The MQ-1's primary mission is conducting armed reconnaissance.

A safety investigation board will be convened to investigate the incident.
