Coalition service member killed in IED attack Published Oct. 27, 2008 By Headquarters United States Forces Afghanistan from Headquarters United States Forces Afghanistan KABUL, Afghanistan -- One coalition service member died of wounds sustained when the vehicle he was riding in struck an IED this afternoon in western Afghanistan. The incident took place about 2 p.m. Coalition personnel have secured the scene. The incident is under investigation. The name and nationality of the service member is being withheld until next of kin are notified.
