Landing accident at Bagram Airfield leaves one injured, loss of airplane Published Oct. 21, 2008 By U.S. Forces Afghanistan U.S. Forces Afghanistan KABUL, Afghanistan -- A Navy P-3 Orion airplane overshot the runway surface while landing at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, early today. The airplane sustained serious structural and fire damage. Bagram-based emergency-response units took action on scene to extinguish the fires. The entire crew survived, though one U.S. crew member suffered a broken ankle and was treated at Craig Joint Theater Hospital on Bagram. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
