The new generation
KIRKUK REGIONAL AIR BASE, Iraq -- An Iraqi air force maintenance airman marshals a Cessna 172 Skyhawk out from it's parking location for an early morning training flight here Sept. 1. The plane is piloted by Lt. Col. Todd Daggett, 52nd Expeditionary Flying Training Squadron director of operations, and an Iraqi air force student pilot. The student pilot is part of the 52 EFTS's effort to help train the next generation of Iraqi pilots. Upon graduation, the Iraqi pilots are assigned to units that either conduct an airlift mission with C-130 aircraft, or an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission with King Air 350, Cessna 208 and CH-2000 aircraft. Colonel Daggett is deployed here from Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Andrew Leonhard)
