JOINT BASE BALAD, Iraq --A C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft starts up its engines before taxiing to the runway here Aug. 12. The C-130 provides heavy airlift throughout the entire U.S. Central Command area of responsibility regardless of runway conditions or weather, day or night.
