Deputy SecDef visits Sather

SATHER AIR BASE, Iraq --  Col. David Pavey, 447th Air Expeditionary Group commander, meets with Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England at Sather Air Base, on the west side of Baghdad International Airport. 

Secretary Gordon stopped at Sather AB as he traveled to other undisclosed locations within Iraq and other countries in the region to meet with senior American leaders and other local government officials. 

The Secretary is delegated full power and authority to act for the Secretary of Defense and exercise the powers of the Secretary on any and all matters for which the Secretary is authorized to act pursuant to law. 

Colonel Pavey is responsible for supporting U.S. and coalition forces with airlift, supplies and delivery of forces and material within the Central Command area of responsibility.
