CAMP TAJI, Iraq -- Master Sgt. Bradley Martens, 770th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron lead aerial gunner training instructor, explains the proper clearing procedures for landing around obstacles to an Iraqi air force aerial gunner trainee during a training mission over Camp Taji, May 29. Gunners are the third eye for helicopter pilots enabling then to see areas that are not in their field of vision from the cockpit, for example the tail rotor.
