Pre-positioning weapons at Balad to save $1.3M
BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- Master Sgt. Balad Air Base has been chosen by Air Force leadership to be the test base for a weapons pre-positioning initiative that is expected to save the Air Force, approximately $1.3 million per year in transportation costs.
