Fatal vehicle accident at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait

ALI AL SALEM AIR BASE, Kuwait --

An Airman deployed to Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, was killed in a single all-terrain-vehicle non-combat related accident on the flightline today. This accident is unrelated to the one that claimed the life of Senior Airman Jason Phan on Sept. 12.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and teammates of our two Airmen who we have recently lost,” said Col. Henry Triplett, commander of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing at Ali Al Salem. “These two Airmen were beloved members of our wing and tragically died while serving our nation. While this is an extremely difficult time for our wing, we will continue to lean on and support one another.”

The name of the deceased Airman is being withheld until 24 hours after the next of kin has been notified.

The causes of both accidents are under investigation.
