The first of these plans was realized this past spring with the repositioning of the ‘KINGPIN’ mission – and the more than 150 Airmen and coalition partners who support it - from the Middle East to Sumter.

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. --

U.S. Air Force Gen. Mark Kelly, commander of Air Combat Command, visited Shaw Air Force Base and received an update on the future of 9th Air Force (Air Forces Central) from 9 AF(AFCENT) leadership. Lt. Gen. Gregory Guilllot, commander of 9 AF(AFCENT), led the discussion and offered the current plans on how the organization plans to increase resiliency and enhance operational effectiveness in the coming years.
