AMMAN, Jordan – The U.S. Embassy Jordan celebrated the United States Air Force 75th anniversary with Air Forces Central Command during a celebration formation in Amman, Jordan, August 25, 2022. The event included a five-ship, four-nation flyover led by the Royal Jordanian Air Force in formation with fighter aircraft from AFCENT, the Royal Air Force and the French Air and Space Force Rafale Forces.

This event and multi-nation flyover recognizes the contributions of Total Force Airmen, both past and present, who have fought and defended our nation in air and space while paying tribute to the hard work, continuous investment and cooperation American allies and partners have contributed to ensuring 75 successful years for the U.S. Air Force.

“For over seven decades, our countries have set the example of what can be achieved through partnership, understanding and a shared vision,” said Lt. Gen. Grynkewich, AFCENT commander. “It is only by building invaluable partnerships, like ours, that we can ensure the safety and prosperity of this critical region.”

The ceremony underscored the strength of the U.S.-Jordanian security partnership, Jordan’s leadership in regional security and stability and the importance of partner nation coordination and interoperability.

Grynkewich praised the historic partnership between the USAF and RJAF which includes combined training and personnel exchanges as well as combat operations in support of regional security.

“Through partnerships like ours and working together with like-minded nations, our Airmen ensure the safety and prosperity of the region and counter global threats,” said Grynkewich.

RJAF Commander, Brigadier General Mohammad Hiyasat, emphasized, “The strong partnership with the U.S. Air Force has founded a common language between our Airmen.  We, the RJAF, look forward to more cooperation at all levels with the U.S. Air Force to sustain global peace and support freedom.”

In addition to the flyover, the ceremony featured a performance by the AFCENT Band.  The musical performance by the band provided the gift of music as a representation of the U.S. Air Force’s commitment to the region and the value the U.S. places on the bilateral partnership and security cooperation with Jordan.

The relationship between the U.S. and Jordanian Air Forces began only two short years after the inception of the USAF in September 1947. The continued partnership with Jordan is a priority not only to the U.S. Air Force, but to the United States as a whole.

"The relationship between the U.S. and Jordan, and the U.S. Air Force and the Royal Jordanian Air Force remains strong,” said Grynkewich. “Our partnership only makes us stronger and together with other like-minded nations from the region and around the world, I know we will be unstoppable. Here's to the next 75 years.”
