A very common truth in today's society is that hard work pays off and for the members of the 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants flight they proved that statement true by topping off more than 3 billion gallons of fuel since 2001.

The Airmen of POL ensure that the mission is ready at all times by providing fuel to all the aircraft at AUAB.

The 379th ELRS fuels distribution operators pump nearly 850,000 gallons of JP-8 in a day, making it the busiest fuels hub in the Department of Defense.

"It's just another day of staying busy but the satisfaction comes from getting the mission done." said U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Alvin Burton, 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels distribution operator.

Airmen of the POL flight not only drive a big green truck and pump fuel, but they are also responsible for providing serviceable fuel, and sampling all fuel that is used by base aircraft and vehicles.

"We have a lot of pride in what we do because we are issuing the life blood of war," said Burton.
