Contractors take time off for Eid al-Adha

KANDAHAR AIRFIELD, Afghanistan --  During the next seven to 14 days, Afhgans will be celebrating Eid al-Adha, a religious festival celebrated by Muslims and Druze worldwide as a commemoration of Ibrahim's (Abraham's) willingness to sacrifice his son, as commanded by Allah.

Many of the local contractors will be taking time off to observe this holiday period with their families and the Kandahar Regional Contracting Center expects deliveries of goods, supplies, and services to be delayed over the next two weeks. Most construction projects performed by local nationals will also be delayed.
