The first combat aircraft for the newly reactivated 332ndAir Expeditionary Group landed here over several days during the week of Nov. 17-21.
The 163rd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, previously providing close air support operations in Afghanistan, arrived with several A-10 Thunderbolts II.
The “Blacksnakes” are deployed from the 122ndFighter Wing at Fort Wayne Air National Guard Station, Ind.
The 332nd AEG, descended from the famed Tuskegee Airman Red Tails, reactivated in a ceremony Nov. 16, 2014. The unit will work with coalition forces to support Operation INHERENT RESOLVE and other regional operations.
