The 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron readiness and emergency management flight will kick off the Be Ready Awareness Campaign, April 4, with one goal in mind…Preparedness!

When an incident occurs such as a major accident, natural disaster, enemy attack, terrorism or active shooter, personnel instinctively want to respond appropriately. The key to a quick and effective response is being prepared and knowing what protective actions to take ahead of time.

The Air Force’s Be Ready Awareness Campaign is designed to provide every installation a standardized method to raise awareness, warn and guide individual/community behavior.

Professional grade posters, information sheets, stickers, public service announcements, videos and apps have been made available through the Air Force Civil Engineer Center. They span over 32 categories and include preparedness information on a variety of manmade and natural hazards.

The 379th ECES readiness and emergency management flight is utilizing these products and some creative techniques to invent new ways to capture your attention.

“Our campaign must answer the question… why should I prepare?” said Staff Sgt. Valerie Kalkwarf, 379th ECES readiness and emergency management plans NCOIC. “Every campaign initiative that we have planned will answer that question and many more!”

Visit the ‘Be Ready Awareness Campaign’ booth on April 4, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Memorial Plaza.
