The Bird, and wildlife, Aircraft Strike Hazard program (BASH) is to preserve war fighting capabilities through the reduction of wildlife hazards to aircraft operations. According to the Air Force Safety Center during the 2016 fiscal year the Air Force had more than 4000 wildlife strikes to aircraft resulting in more than 20.6 million dollars in damage.
